
The SLS 3D printing process
SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) printing is a 3D printing that uses lasers to create objects on powder.
The process begins with creating a digital model and then applying powder in thin layers. To create the object, laser fusion is performed point by point and the process is repeated until it is perfected.
Finally, the object is removed, cleaned, polished and painted using a soaking process at specific temperatures.
The PA12 printing material
PA12 is a thermoplastic material belonging to the polyamide family and is widely used in 3D printing. It is used in various applications, such as in the automotive, electronics and component industries that require high strength and flexibility. It has several advantages that also make it suitable for the manufacture of glasses.

Wear resistance
The SLS 3D printed eyeglass frames with PA12 are designed to retain their shape and be resistant to wear. Their automatic return to their original shape and the absence of screws make them ideal for long-term use.
Flexibility

The average weight of INTO THE SUNLIGHT is 25 grams, which makes them extremely comfortable and relaxing to wear, unlike classic bone frames which are on average 30% heavier.
Heat resistance
PA12 is not affected by body heat or the sun and can withstand summer temperatures without any problems. The only possibility of deformation is if exposed to temperatures above 100°C for a long period of time.
Moisture resistance
INTO THE SUNLIGHT absorb only 1-2% of the moisture from the environment and maintain their mechanical properties and dimensions even in conditions of high humidity or immersion in water. They are also resistant to corrosion and mold as the screwless joint consists of a metal element made of surgical steel, making them ideal for use in wet environments. Finally, due to their resistance, they are not affected by sweat and weather conditions.
Skin-friendly
The material of INTO THE SUNLIGHT is hypoallergenic, non-toxic and safe to use as it does not cause irritation or allergic reactions with resistance to possible skin oils. They are not affected by care products such as sunscreens, oils, etc. Their surface has been treated to have a smooth surface and a pleasant touch.
Environmentally friendly
The SLS (selective laser sintering) printing process uses the exact amount of material needed to create the object and the remaining material is reused. This makes it a product with zero ecological footprint. PA12 is extremely durable and long-lasting, reducing the need for replacement and waste, ideal for the "buy less, but buy more" philosophy.
